today i filmed for elite training at a motor mechanics in Telford, i
filmed various shots of the people fixing a car including shots of;
tires being changed/pumped up, windscreen wipers being tested and blades
being changed, headlights being changed, oil being checked, break pads
being cleaned. among other things.
After filming them doing their
activities i then filmed interviews with the 3 lads who are on work on
work placement at the mechanics and before interviewing their supervisor
at the garage and a company representative from Elite Training.
i am hoping to start editing to night as i am currently transferring footage from my memory card to my laptop.
i
have arranged to deliver the video on DVD to the client next Wednesday.
giving me a week to edit the entire project and get it burnt to DVD.

Speaking to Clients - Filming Wednesday
A couple of days ago I was approached by someone who had seen the
video that I had done for the County Council and they showed interest in
me doing a similar video for them.
So after several phone calls and emails the client and I have come to the agreement that start filming Wednesday and have the video back to him a week later.
The client wants a 20 - 30 minute video outlining the children on work placements, what they do, what they learn, what their employers think etc...
I feel that this is the perfect opportunity for me to gain more experience filming as well as more experience working to clients and meeting their briefs.
Wednesday I will be meeting the client at a mechanics in Telford where I will be filming.
I have decided that I will be filming the whole thing on my DSLR and that i will be using lapel mics for the interviews as they worked very well for the interviews that I did for the Art Gallery video and the video I did for the County Council.
I am really pleased for someone to have been impressed enough by work for them to want a video done by me. I am pleased that my video making skills have improved to the point where other people can see quality in the work I do.

Editing Art Gallery Video - Burning DVDs
Today I had a meeting with my client from the art gallery. She was
pleased with the changes made and has advised on a few more changes that
i have taken on-board and have edited in today. hopefully this project
is nearly complete and after another viewing from the client i can burn
the DVD and it will be installed in the Shire Hall Art Gallery Stafford.
I also met with a client of which i did a project for a couple of months ago, i met him today to burn a final DVD something that he didn't feel he needed at the time when i completed the video but now feels it would benefit him to have a DVD copy of the video.

Meeting Open Art - Folders in Premiere
Yesterday i met with my client from the Shire Hall Art Gallery in
Stafford so that she could view the first draft of the video i am doing
for the Open Art Exhibition.
We watched the video through together and decided to change a few things such as the title colour and change the order of the presentation evening so that the award is given and then followed by the interview of that winner, whereas before all the awards were given back to back followed by the interviews all being grouped together.
I have also found that creating folders in Adobe Premiere Pro is a brilliant way to group footage. as i've grouped all footage based on what day they were filmed on making it easier to find the footage i need when i need it.
Tomorrow i am meeting the client again for another viewing and hopefully the video will be up and displayed in the gallery come this Saturday.

Meeting for Art Gallery Video
Today I met with the client from the art gallery for the first time.
We sat down and spoke about what she wanted from the video, which was that she wanted a video that documented the Open Art Exhibition from start to finish. The Open Art Exhibition is split into sections which are; Handing in, Judging, Installation of winners in the gallery and the Prize giving evening when the winners are given their prizes and get a chance to look at all the new art hanging in the gallery.
The client has stated that she wants the video to be between 5 and 8 minutes long.
Based on my research I feel that this video would work well accompanied with some original music for the bits of the video where the sound of the video is not important. luckily i know some musicians so it should quite easy to find someone that is willing to do the music for me.
I feel that the handing in and the installation of the art in the gallery will be the 2 shortest parts of the video as i feel they may become boring, so i have decided to concentrate on the judging and the prize giving evening.
I will also interview the judges and winners of prizes to mix the video up a bit and make it more interesting for viewers.
